This year the Boys Cross Country team had a pretty successful year. They didn't do as well as they thought they would but they grew as a team, and next year they will do even better. This season the boys cross country team won the Haslett invite with a sixth runner tie breaker. Coach Foy said, "The greatest accomplishment I enjoy is watching boys mature and become young men." Individual runners ran career bests and that is always a good goal to reach. Coach Foy was most proud of the team unity during the season.
The regional meet at Carson City-Crystal was a major event for the team. There are two graduating seniors this year, Phil Batterson and Arthur Williams. 23 team members could and should be returning next fall for another season. Next year Coach Foy predicts that the boys will finish higher in the CAAC blue division standings than this year and they will finish higher in the Regional Standings.
Note to boys wanting to run cross country: Coach Foy hopes you will run many miles with other teammates 5 times a week.
The boys cross country coaches are: Coach Stafford and coach Foy.
