Challenge Day was first on Oprah and then Holt High School decided we needed to try it here. It was an all-day event that 86 students, and 28 teachers and staff attended. Among those staff members were 3 board members, 2 administrators, and 3 school counselors. Holt Business alliance provided lunch, but the whole day was about getting along with each other. No matter how much money you had, your race, what you looked like, or what your interests are. Everyone really opened up to the idea, and teachers nominated students to go and be involved. The reactions before the day began were that it was going to be stupid and boring. After the day was done, some of the students showed quite the change. Some students didn't show much change, but hopefully they will experience it in life. A lot of the kids that didn't go said they would love to go if we do it again. The kids that did learned something new about someone they wouldn't normally talk to and thought that they hope everyone gets a chance to go.
