Science Olympiad was created for students grades 9-12 who like science, building, engineering, math and enjoying themselves. Those interested in those different fields of topics practice and compete for them specifically. Science Olympiad practiced Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays in W209 from 2:45-4pm.
This year, the group of students are said to be "Outstanding, hard workers and off to a good start," by biology and human physiology teacher Heather Peterson. "We're always looking for new members."
This year Holt got 3rd at Regionals and had the opportunity to make it to States this past May. The team of Austin Kramarenko and Nat Hooper placed 10th place in Egg-O-Naut. Also, Pham Nyguen and Alec Joiner got 15th place in Physics Lab.
Over all the team was very excited to compete at States. This was their 27th year going to States out of only 28 years of a State Tournament, which is more than any other school.
