Forensics Club

Forensics Club is a club designed to develop students speaking skills, communication, and poise during improv.
The forensics students compete against others in many categories. They are judged on how they present themselves.
Their speech, walk, and appearance all play a role in their final score.
Each meet has at least two preliminary rounds and two final rounds for Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation,
Dramatic Interpretation(from a script or screenplay), Duo(team of two), Multiple(team of three or more), Storytelling,
Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Oratory, Broadcast speaking, informative speaking, and sales presentation.
Forensics has two categories, Policy and Theatre. In the policy category students get a topic and either have 30 minutes
or no time to come up with a speech. In the theatre category, students participate in skits, poetry and storytelling.
Forensics helps develop skills in journalism communication and politics.
Regionals is April 18, 2012 and States is in May.
Meet in Ms. Umpstead's room W215, every Friday after school from 2:30 to 4:00.
