Interviews

Expert Interview

Q: What is Challenge Day?

A: It is technically a social emotional learning workshop, It's a time for students and adults to interact together, It's interactive hands on, it lasts a whole school day and the whole point is to create empathy, build connections, break down barriers. The idea is that if people feel more connected, if they feel like they know how to deal with their feelings they'll do better in school and with each other.

Q: What do you think Challenge Day is?

A: Challenge Day is important if you don't have a lot of people to talk to like you get to open up and talk about your feelings with everyone that you don't even know that well and you really get to know people that you wouldn't know their stories, it's good to know where people come from and what they're about.

Q: What does Challenge Day mean to you?

A: It means a lot to me because I like to get to know everybody and it helps me get everything out there with my feelings.

A: To me right now it's just great to like I said open up and get to know those people you wouldn't talk to and you'd probably judge in the hallway and you get to learn who they really are.
